I’ve installed CentOS 7 64 bit and would like to install xfce and yumex. I’ve had no success doing either despite installing the EPEL repo. I
keep getting “no package yumex available.”
Are they available and if so what am I doing wrong?

It looks like there are no repositories installed for CentOS 7? That explains my problem. Is this something I have to wait for or is there a work around?
I installed from the CentOS 7 live version if that matters …

This

However, yumex for CentOS 7 appears to be available from the nux repo. I just checked.
Yes I realized that after I wrote it. I went through the motions of installing EPEL and it looked like it worked but I cant find anything under
/var/lib/yum/repos/x86_64/.
Yes I saw that earlier but had no luck there, perhaps I gave up too easily?
Thank you,
Bob
I haven’t taken the plunge on EL7 (but I can say from Fedora installs) that the repo files are usually in /etc/yum.repos.d/
Yes, you are correct, I see them there including epel.repo.
So that should work. I should have read my own notes! Yum usually just works …
