Hi All – Been trying to find out if USB 3.1 support is in CentOS 7 and kernel 3.10 ?
I see its in the 4.X kernel – but what about CentOS 7?
Was hoping to make my external backups faster. Thanks,
Jerry

USB 3.1 Gen 1 is the same thing as USB 3.0.
USB 3.1 Gen 2 is a different thing entirely as I expect it needs a much newer kernel. I don’t think it strictly requires USB-C, but in practice that’s the only form factor I’ve seen it appear in so far.

I have a sonnet Allegro USB-C 3.1 gen2 and I’m having issues. It works but at slow speeds at first glance. Maxing out at 200 MB/s for USB ssd drives.
