FYI, Chrome No Longer Supported On CentOS7.
Hi,
FYI, it looks like Google has decided to drop support for Chrome on CentOS 7.

You could try using –skip-broken to work around the problem

Anyone know where to get previous rpm versions of chrome?

Looks like they are working on it:

Thanks for the info. I missed that when I was googling for a solution. Hopefully it will not take to long to fix.
Regards,
Don’t hold your breath. If it doesn’t make money for Google, they’re not likely to make any effort. And Google is the king of killing products.
When CentOS 6 could no longer run chrome, there was this site:
https://chrome.richardlloyd.org.uk/
I remember using it for a while. If need be, perhaps we could rig up something similar.
Cheers, Zube
Agreed, but at least they re-opened the bug and claim to be looking into it.
I am still hopeful but also looking in upgrading to something newer. :-)
Regards,
So, there is a Chromium build in EPEL.
Good News! It looks like Google has a fix that will restore support for CentOS 7. https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1261617#c26
TL;DR: the fix will show up in the google-chrome-unstable package v97.0.4677.0. Eventually a fixed version will be available as the stable package.

The chrome beta and stable releases:
google-chrome-beta.x86_64 96.0.4664.35-1
google-chrome-stable.x86_64 95.0.4638.69-1
from the google repository now install and run on CentOS-7 without the glibc 2.18 dependency issue showing up. I can’t speak for the versions in elrepo.
