I’ve looked high and low and I cannot a package that has the mariadb driver to go with bind-sdb-9.9.4-14.el7_0.1.x86_64. Everything I’m finding is how to build from source, which for this project will not be maintainable. Is there a yum repo with this driver anywhere? Thanks much,

Jim

  • Any reason you aren’t looking for a mysql driver? Mariadb is by design a mysql clone. It doesn’t expect you to use a mariadb driver. It expects mysql commands. Ted Miller Elkhart, IN, USA

  • Just for information. Mariadb is a fork of mysql. The fork was done by part of mysql team as a response to acquisition of mysql by Oracle. This is an acquisition of open source very popular database by company main commercial product of which is commercial database (oracle; very expensive BTW). Some have reservations about a future of mysql in view of this fact, and I am one of them. (Even though I prefer to use wherever I can much better IMHO open source database: PostgreSQL). But I do not have reservations about a future of mariadb. I’m sure your math will be the same as mine.
